We've had the wood fire burning here in our little home in the Italian Alps.
Very little snow so far but it's certainly coming.
Sam and Luca have been working hard down at the Army Barrack and our daughter is doing really well with her photography and will be doing a workshop in Milan in May.
I'm all good and just recovering from a rotten cold, I've been slowly repainting the lounge room and kitchen here at Malpertus and it looks so much brighter. We await the return of the sun.
If you don't know, we took a trip to Morocco and we all totally fell in LOVE! We plan to return again later this year (if the finances hold up).

After many years I finally took a trip with Carina to Pinerolo to see the lights and they were just beautiful!! I also visited Torino with Luca and as a family we went to see Les Miserables in Milano.
This year the whole valley has been lit up and it was very moving to drive back to our little house in the mountains and see all the homes sparkling and the beautiful Christmas trees in the village squares along the way. Just fantastic!

Now you can Buy & Sell in the Group

I've recently added the buying and selling feature to the Renovating Italy Facebook group and it seems that group members are finding it really useful. I'd love to hear any feedback on this feature or on anything else you think I should include.

From the start, we wanted a kitchen island in this space. Cooking with a view of the sea – that sounded amazing! But then came the hard part: the choices were endless. I spent hours scrolling through Pinterest. So many beautiful ideas, but choosing? Not easy at all.
We’d always had stainless steel kitchen cabinets, but this time we wanted something different. Something special. But what? Marble? Wood? After a while, we noticed that one photo kept catching our eye: a stunning wooden island with a marble countertop.

But who could bring our vision to life? Davide sent us a design incredibly fast, and it was exactly what we had in mind! Then came the samples, and we were completely convinced. He was the one for the job. The funny part? Davide was the only one who was faster than us. While we were busy postponing, he was ready.

Little by little, we saw our dream kitchen come to life. That was the most exciting moment: how would it look in real life? Until then, we’d only seen pictures. Luckily, the result didn’t disappoint. In fact, it exceeded our expectations. It’s truly our dream kitchen. And now? Now it’s time to save up for the other pieces!
